Be a Sponsor. Make a Big Difference in these Difficult Times.
The headline of practically everything includes “in difficult times.” People are suffering. Organizations are suffering and the economy is not expected to begin recovery until 2010. Most of the advice we read and hear is tactical, telling us what we should do: Motivate your people! Make tough decisions! Cut this...slash that! Preserve cash! Do whatever it takes to survive! And does that work? Considering that these are the very same tactics that have been utilized by companies in Chapter 11, statistics show that 80% of the companies that reorganize under Chapter 11 still don't make it. They die within five years. And force is not where the power lies. Why don't these tactics work? Because most of the decisions are made from a state of fear. Do, do, do. Force, Force, Force. The power is in self-awareness - in being vs. doing. The power is in choosing what we prefer to think - focusing on what we want, not what we don't want. The power is in knowing who we truly are and what we truly want, as individuals and organizations. When we know, we become at peace and inspired. And that's when we become completely in touch with our creativity and the ideas on what to do and how to do it come through. The total cost for us to produce, publicize and distribute the video program through the web and on television ranges from $40,000 to $120,000 – $40,000 for one video, over one hour, with 12 steps that leaders and organizations can put to immediate use, and additional videos that drill down each step with specific how-to examples and action items. The production time range is 2 weeks for the first program and 8 weeks for all of the programs. To find funds to do this through traditional channels is a time-consuming and gradual process. If just 800 people pitched in 150 dollars, that’s $120,000! Or if 120 people or organizations pitched in $1,000 that’s $120,000! And of course any combination in between. We can do this! We can give individuals and organizations the tools to survive and thrive. To serve as a sponsor at whatever level is comfortable for you, click on the green tool bar at the top of the page.*
*Please note that Managing Thought is not a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. Your sponsorship dollars are taxable income to Managing Thought and deductible to you as a marketing or business development expense. It is our intention to utilize the sponsorship dollars to cover production, editing, publicity and web development costs and nothing more – in other words no profits. What’s in it for Managing Thought? We believe that Managing Thought is the greatest gift we can give to our selves, our families, our organizations, the community, each other, and the world. By helping leaders and organizations develop self-awareness and change the way they think and conduct business, we help organizations survive and thrive in the short-term and long-term. In doing so, we produce a ripple effect of considerable magnitude. We also hope to raise the awareness of the Managing Thought® process in the business community. The extent of the project depends on the total amount of sponsorships received. Should there be insufficient funds to produce the downloadable and streamable video programs, it is our intention to produce downloadable audio programs or written programs, as funds allow. It is also our intention to keep the sponsors informed as the project takes shape. At a minimum, all sponsors are receiving a complimentary copy of the digital version of the Managing Thought: How Do Your Thoughts Rule Your World? audio book, recognition on our website with links to their website, and free access to the finished product. Additional benefits are being announced as the project and funding takes shape.
Abe Lincoln, when asked if he had six hours to cut down a tree, what would he do, said he would spend four hours sharpening his axe. One of the astronauts, when asked if he had only had ten seconds of air, what would he do, said he would spend nine seconds thinking and one second doing.
